Yarn of the month - April
This month the yarn of the month is Dorset Horn in the DK weight.
The Dorset Horn is one of the oldest British sheep breeds and produces a fleece of exceptionally high quality. The fleece is naturally white making it a good base for dyeing.
Flocks occur mainly in the South West of England where our climate is slightly milder, which is a good match for the breed. This is due to its capability to lamb 2 or 3 times over just a few years. Making this a good value breed for farmers.
This months yarn is a highly variagated dusky pink, grey, cream and sky blue mix. This will look fantastic on linen and slipped stitch projects. The feel is rustic but not uncomfortable, and the DK weight gives 200m to work with.
