This special one day experience is the perfect gift for a knitter or someone who would love to learn.
The day will start at 10am at the Loch Ness Knitting site in Drumnadrochit. Participants will then learn about techniques of sustainable natural dyeing. You'll learn about the traditional methods of dyeing and how Dwynwen has adapted these for a modern sustainable approach. You'll then dye the yarn required for your shawl.
While the yarn is drying you'll then break for lunch at one of the local Loch Ness cafes that provides materials for the Cafe Collection of yarn.
After lunch you'll have a relaxing session with Dwynwen or another experienced knitter. You'll enjoy the warmth and welcome of our fireside and Highland hospitality as we teach you all the techniques required to make your shawl.
At the end of the day you'll leave with:
the yarn to make your shawl, which you will have hand dyed.
